I am Nadja.
Essence Expressionism begins with a simple decision:
not to interpret people, but to see them.
Open to what reveals itself.
I am not interested in perfect images.
I am interested in what sustains a person —
what quietly shapes a life and remains present through change.
Born in 1969, with a professional background in business, industry and communication, I know the many roles people learn to inhabit.
And I know how easily those roles can replace the person behind them.
Perhaps this is why my work begins with a clear conviction:
human dignity is not negotiable.
A face is not a status symbol.
It is a lived experience.
Essence Expressionism means turning toward a person
with precision, attention and respect —
without intrusion.
And again and again something appears
that everyday perception simply overlooks.
With my work I bow to the individuality of every person
and to who we are beyond social conventions, algorithms and social media.
I work with discretion, protection and responsibility.
What emerges in my studio remains protected.
My art does not seek to change anyone.
It allows a moment of recognition.

The uniqueness is not in the number of colors but in what holds the colors together. Once-me based on a photograph by Nico Syzmkowiak.

Be free! And thank you ever so much for your peaceful presence while I was painting you!

The magic lies not (only) in the colors you see, but also in those you don’t (anymore) see. Faces speak volumes (but not all are labeled).

Short time away - What's the color doing? Running ... Once-me: Portraits are paths, show paths...

What is the greatest expression of myself, that I would like to be?”
